Dear Sandra & Lance,
Our records only cover the period from 1874 through 1926. As of 1926, there was no structure on your
lot. According to the 1926 county assessor records, the vacant lot was owned by Wilmer & Bertha Hiatt
who owned and lived in the house at 605 17th Street. The enclosed 1926 Sanborn map also shows no
structure on your lot in 1926.
As for Edith Holloway, I can find no mention of her in the 1926 city directoiy or in the county assessor
records for Pacific Grove through 1926. The only Holloway who owned property in Pacific Grove from
1923 through 1926 was Lucina Holloway who owned and lived at 250 Lighthouse Avenue.
The Community Development Department at the corner of 16h and Laurel has files from 1928 on most
homes. Perhaps you can find something there.
