Charles Jackson
Charles M. Jackson of Shelton
died September 25 in Shoshone,
Idaho. He was 67‘
Mr. Jackson was born in Lewis-
ton, Idaho, on June 4, 1925 to Wal-
ter and Georgia (Carpenter) Jack-
son. He had served in the US.
Navy during World War II and the
Korean War.
He had been a resident of Shel-
ton since 1945 and was employed
by Lumbermen’s until 1948. In
1951 he worked for the Tradewell
Grocery Store and later purchased
Needham’s Food Store on Moun-
tain View, He sold the store in 1978
and worked for various grocery
stores in the Olympia area until
1987.
Mr. Jackson was active with the
Mason County Senior Center. He
loved fishing and was an avid gar-
dener who participated in the Mas-
ter Gardener program. His hobbies
included photography and paint-
ing with watercolors and oils He
was a member of the Shelton
Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his
son, Rob, in 1988. Survivors in-
clude his wife, Phyllis Jackson of
Shelton; his daughters, Cynthia
Miller of Shelton and Rebecca
McGaVick of Olympia; his sons,
Walter Jackson of Yakima and
Christopher Jackson of Eugene,
Oregon; his stepdaughter, Tammy
Hanson of San Diego, California;
hi‘s stepsons, Steven Hanson of
Renton and Todd Hanson of 'l‘um—
water; his sister, Myranell Davis of
Shelton; his uncle, Tom Jackson of
Shoshone; eight grandchildren
and his nieces and nephews.
A family memorial service will
be held. Arrangements are by
McCornb and Batstone Funeral
