Katherine McQuinn te/w/M Katherine McQuinn Shelton resident Katherine (Mirka) “Kay" McQuinn died after a lengthy illness involving heart problems Thursday, June 3, at her home in Shelton. She was 79. Born February 25, 1920 in Sas- katchewan, Canada, and raised in Northern Minnesota, she went to California during World War II andworked for Lockheed Aircraft. She married Jack L, McQuinn on July 11, 1943 in San Bemardi- no, California. They lived in nu- merous cities in California before moving to Shelton in 1984. Mrs. McQuinn was an excel- lent seamstress and did much sewing for her family and friends She is survived by her hus- band, Jack L. McQuinn of Shel- ton; daughter Kathy Christie and her husband Jim of San Clemv ente, California; grandson Jon David Christie of San Clemente; and mother Irene Mirka of Escon- dido, California. Also surviving are sisters Mary Hugar of Saint Catharines, Ontario, Canada, and Pernell Papiro and her husband John of Pauma Valley, California; brothers Hal Mirka and his wife Julane of Whidbey Island, and Michael Mirka and his wife Betty of Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
