Leo S. Lovgreen Jr, 71, a resi-
dent of Olympia {or three years,
died ’Diesday, Nov 28, 1995, in
Olympia. Cause of death is not avail-
able,
He was born March 16, 192.4! in
Port Blakely to Leo E. and Minnie
Rose Lovgreen. He graduated from
Bainbridge High School on Balu-
bridge Island.
Mr Lovgreen operated the Luv
green Dairy on Bainbndge Island
until 1960.
The dairy included a daily milk
route delivery service. The Lov-
ens purchased a dairy in Shelton
In 1960 and continued farming until
retiring in 1986. This was the last re
maining dairy in Mason County at
that time. Since then he resided in
01 ia.
While on Bainbridge Island, he
served as director and board mem-
ber of the Kitsap-Mason Dairy-
men’s Association and the Kitsap
County Dairy Herd Improvement
Association. He was a delegate to
the State DHIA, director for Kltsap
Countyin the EvergreenNorthwest
Co-op Breeders Association and a
board member for the Kitsap
Coun Fair
Heuwas also a member of the
board of supervisors of the county
soil conservation district, an alter-
nate on the county ASC committee,
and president of the county unit of
the Washington State Dairymen s
Federation.
He was a leader in church youth
activities on Bainbridge Island and
served as an elder and choir meme
her in the Mt. Olive Lutheran
Church in Shelton.
Mr, Lovgreen is survived by his
wife, Kate Lovgreen, Olympia; a
daughter, Heidi Lyons, Olympia; a
brother, John, Stanwood; and nu-
merous nieces and nephews.
A graveside inurnment will be at
11 a.m. Saturday, Dec, 2, in Kane
~ Cemetery, Bainhridge Island.
The family suggests memorial
donations be made to Parkinson’s
Research, c/o Maria Linde, Univer-
sity of Washington Medical School,
Neurology RB, 27, Seattle, Wash,
93195; or Mount Olive Lutheran
Church Building Fund.
