Irene Agnes Jackson, 79, a 74-
year resident of Shelton, died fol—
lowing a series of strokes Friday,
Aug. 22, 1997, at Fir Lane Health
and Rehabilitation Center, Shelton.
She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in
Tacoma to Gus and Agnes
(Gustafson) Swanson.
She graduated in 1937 from Irene
High School, Shelton.
She married Wilfred “Bill” Jack-
son on Feb. 6, 1937, in Shelton.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of
Amaranth, the Order of Eastern
Star, and Rebekah. During World
War 11 she was a member of the Air
Plane Watch and re'ceived her 250-
hour pin and other awards.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing
bingo and pull tabs, and taking care
of her family.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her
husband, Bill, Shelton; a daughter,
Linda Marie Sorenson, Shelton; a
son, William “Bill" R, Shelton; a sis-
ter, Gloria Stoner, Shelton; three
grandchildren; three great-grand-
children; and two nieces. She was
preceded in death by her brothers,
Frank Swanson and Ivan Du-
movich.
As she requested, no service will
be held.
In lieu of flowers the family sug-
gest memorial donations to Elks
Crippled Children’s Fund.
