Doris Imogene Jackson, of Shel-
ton, Washington, died Saturday,
February 26, at the age of 79.
She was born on August 16, i915 in
Seattle to William and Vivan
(Warner) McFaddin. on October
3], i945 she married Charles M.
Jackson. Doris was an elementa-
ry school teacher, and one of the
first women to graduate from St.
Martin’s with a teaching degree.
She loved to react’ and was well»
educated She loved to travel any
chance she got, especially to places
where her family was. She always
knew the history and geology of the
places she visited. She also like
driving, and often went on advenr
tures in her car. Doris also volun-
teered for organizations such as
S.H.|.B,A,, the Shelton Historical
Society in the Kaboos and at Fid-
dle Fest, and the Harmony Hill
Cancer Retreat Center. She is sur-
vived by her daughters, Cynthia
Miller (William) and Rebecca Mc-
Gavick, of Shelton; sons, Walter
Jackson (Robin), of Bellingham,
and Christopher Jackson
(Lori), of Bend, Oregon; sister,
Marsha McChesney (William);
brother, Warner “Mac" McFaddin
(Donna); eight grandchildren; six
greatrgrondchildrem and numer-
ous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Doris was preceded in death by her
son, Robert Jackson. on April 29¢
1983. A memorial service will be
held at the Hope Chapel in Shelton
on Friday, March 4, 2005, at 1:00
D.m. Memorial donations may be
made to the St. Peter’s Hospital
Cardiac Rehabilitation, m Lilly
Road N.E., Olympia, Washington,
98506. The family is being served
by McComb Funeral Home.
