My observations of Lake Roesiger from July 4, 1926 to
date, by Harry B. Dye 23128 Lake Roesiger Drive
On July 3, 1926 my father Harry W Dye took his family,
which included my mother, Mary Frances Dye, my two sisters,
now Mrs Kenneth R MacArthur and Mrs Robert Walthew, as well
as myself Harry B Dye to Lake Roesiger for the 4th of July
weekend.
We traveled up a little old dirt wagon road from Monroe
to the Roesiger Campground in the south lake, which is now known
as the State Park. We were towing a small trailer which un—
folded and opened up into two, three quarter beds and an army
cot for me to sleep on. Mr and Mrs Roesiger, Senior were
managing the operations at that time. They had three or four
sons: namely, Bruno, Solin and the other;l cannot remember
their names.
We caught a good mess of silver trout that weekend and
had several fish frys. My father was so taken with the lake
that on the same weekend and unbeknown to his family, bought
a cute little log cabin in the south lake for fishing.
THE LOG CABIN
The log cabin was built of all cedar logs by a Canadian
ranger who was an expert craftsman, It was located on Lot 59
of Lake Roesiger Park Addition.
paid $900.00 for it in 1926.
was platted by Dr. Harry K Lum and Raymond I Greene, and
recorded of record on July 30, 1923.
The records show my father
