Born in Lyons, Oregon, on
,December 26, 1896, Mr. Beau-
champ lived in Oregon until 1935
when hemovedto Kelso. Later that
‘same year he moved to Everett,
1 finally settling in Shelton in 1947
. to work for Simpson Timber Com-
, pany. He married Cynthia Blanche ,
Beauchamp in 1920.
Mr. Beauchamp was a member.
of Madrona Barracks 1462, Veter<
ans ofWorld War I. He worked as a
. sign painter for Foster and Kleiser, ,
and for Weyerhauser and Simp-
son.
Active in Shelton civic affairs,
Mr, Beauchamp created a clown,
group called Bo’s Band to promote
, the annual Mason County Forest
Festival. He also designed stage
sets and floats for the festival. The
35-foot Christmas Town U. S. A.
Santa and the big log at the entry
to Shelton are his work. He also
had a small sign-painting business
and carved numerous totem poles.
Mr. Beauchamp did oil paintings
as a hobby, but never had a formal
art lesson.
He was a member of Saint
Edward‘s Roman Catholic Church
and a former member of the'
Masonic order’s Scottish Rite,
Lodge 32.
Surviving Mr. Beauchamp are
his wife, Blanche Beauchamp of
Shelton, one niece, Roberta Suppes
of Portland, Oregon; one nephew,
Douglas Beauchamp of San Fran-
cisco, California; and numerous
. other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on
Wednesday, June 7, at Saint Ed-
Lward’s with Father Edward Rece~
coni, Order ofSaint Benedict, om-
ciating. Mr. Beauchamp was bur-
ied at Marion Cemetery in Marion,
Oregon. Arrangements were under
the direction of McComb and Eat-
