T. E. Schauflen 1W Theodore E. “Ted" Schau er died October 29 in Castro Valley, California He was 88. Mr. Sebaufler was born on October 25, 1903 to Albert and Emma (Ahl) Schaufler ofWashing- ton. He was a native of Eldon who lived on Schauf’ler Lane near J orsted Creek for the past 20 years, alternating with visits to his fami— ly in the Bay Area. He was one of the original surveyors of the Moffett Field Air Base in Mountain View, California and was later employed by the L. Cedric MacAbee Engineering Company in Palo Alto, California. He loved the woods and mountains of the Olympic Peninsula. Survivors include his wife, Helen Schaufler of the family home; his sons, Eugene Schaufler of San Leandro, California and Roger Schaufler of Castro Valley; his granddaughter, Christina Roberts of Sacramento, California; his grandson, Erik Schaufler of Pope Air Force Base in North Car- olina; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Reverend Donald Maddux officiated at graveside services held November 2 at Shelton Memorial Park. Arrangements were by McComb and Batstone Funeral Home. , OCR Text: T. E.
