Fisherman Stuart Mowitch of
Shelton died Tuesday, January
21, at Mason General Hospital of
a heart-related affliction. He was
44' ,
Mr. Mowitch was born Novem-
ber 12, 1952 in Aberdeen to Wil-
lard and Joyce (Capoman) Mo-
witch. He attended schools in Ta-
holah and was married to Patti
LeClair. He’d lived in Shelton for
the past nine years.
A member of the Quinault In-
dian Nation, be fished in the Ta-
holah area on the Quinault River,
His family said his children
meant everything to him, and he
enjoyed fishing and taking his
kids fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Pat-
ti LeClair of Shelton; two sons,
Stuart Mowitch Jr. and Adam
Mowitch, both of Shelton; two
daughters, Nikita Mowitch and
Justine Mowitch, both of Shelton;
three stepchildren, Joseph Long-
shore, Jason Longshore and Laila
Longshore, all of Shelton; his
mother, Joyce Watson of Oak
Harbor; his father, Willard Mo»
witch Sr. of Taholah; four broth-
ers, Gary Mowitch of Taholah,
Raymond Sasticum of Beaver,
Hans Mertins of Oak Harbor and
David Watson of Spanaway; five
sisters, Carol Mowitch of Tacoma,
Sandra Sasticum of Reno, Neva-
da, Esther Chenois of Tokeland,
Sheila Mertins of Oak Harbor
and Belinda Mertins of Oak Har-
bor; and one grandchild
Visitation was at a candlelight
service led by Nick Wilbur at the
Skokomish Shaker Church at 7
pm. Thursday, January 23, and a
funeral service was held at the
Skokomish Shaker Church at 11
a.m. Friday, January 24, with
Pastor Truman Santiago officiat-
ing. Mr. Mowitch was buried at
the Skokomish Y Cemetery at 1
pm. Friday,
