years, died of breast cancer Sun-
day, September 16. She was 54.
She was born April 17, 1947 in
Walla Walla to Charles Mahlon
Moore and Phyllis Loretta
(Gaines) Scudder,
She married Richard Barnes
on December 16, 1989 in Olym-
pia. Previously, she married Earl
Madison in 1966, That marriage
ended in divorce in 1982.
She worked as a teller at Na-
tional Bank of Mason County,
teller and operations officer at
Puget Sound Bank, as operations
officer at Key Bank and as book»
keeper at Windermere-Himlie
Real Estate.
Mrs. Barnes was a former
member of the Shelton~Mason
County Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors and was a
member of the Shelton Ladies of
the Elks. She was active in pro-
grams for Mason County youth.
She enjoyed reading, baking
and spending time with her
grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by
her father, Charles Moore,
Survivors include her husband,
Richard Barnes of Shelton; sons
Ken Madison of Shelton, and
Scott Madison and his wife Pam
of Shelton; stepson Tim Barnes
and his wife Connie of Mill Creek;
stepdaughter Natalie Burtson of
Dallas, Texas; sister Karen Wil-
mot and her husband Will of Mil»
toniFreewater, Oregon; mother
Phyllis Scudder of Milton-Free-
water, Oregon; and grandchildren
Trevor, Cody, Carly and Katie
Madison, all of Shelton, and
Brett, Blake and Brandon Barnes
of Mill Creek.
A celebration of her life is set
for 1 to 3 pm. Sunday, September
23, at the Shelton Civic Center,
