Shelton, long-time Simpson Tim-
ber Company worker and local
sportsman, died of cancer at Seatv
tle Swedish Hospital on August 11.
He was 68.
Mrr Nutt was born May 30, 1924
in Sumner to Robert and Careta
N utt. He worked 40 years for Simp-
son and spentfouryears in the Us
Navy during World War II. He
)belonged to the Bayshore Golf
Club, the Moose and the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Mr Nutt played
and coached baseball and fastpitch
from 1947 to 1976
He was preceded in death by his
father, his mother and his brother,
Loren (Bill) Nutt.
Survivors include his wife,
Helen, of Shelton; his three chil-
dren, Michael Nutt of Shelton, J or-
da Thacher of South Carolina and
Kris Bailey of Shelton; four grand»
children, Blake Nutt, Kari Thank»
er, Alexander Thacker and Carly
Nutt; three brothers, Robert Nutt,
Kelly Nutt and Reuben (Jim) Nutt,
all of Shelton; his sister, Nancy
Hurd of Salem, Oregon; and many
nieces and nephews
