J’Wri Elna Udell Elna G. Udell died peace- fully on Friday, April 3, in Marysville. She was 92. She was born June 10, 1916 and raised on the farm of her parents, Leander and Anna Sofia Carlson, on Harstine Island. After graduating from Irene S. Reed High School in 1935, she lived in Seattle. On March 22, 1947 she married Jesse M. Udell and they made their home on Udell Road outside Arling- ton. Mrs. Udell was preceded in death by husband Jesse Udell on August 6, 1988. She was also preceded in death by sisters Signie, Es- ther, Helen and Dorothy and brothers Carl and Paul. Mrs. Udell worked as an elevator operator and care- giver. She will be remembered for her poetry, musical tal- ents (playing both accordion and violin), her enjoyment of life and good luck at bingo. She is survived by Hildur (Wilson) Ashby of Harst— ine Island, with whom she shared a lifelong friend- ship. Funeral services will be at Weller Funeral Home in Arlinan on Saturday, April 11, at 1 pm.
