Rudolph, Dancer and Pranc-
er were busy on Saturday, De-
cember 3 but Santa still found
his way to downtown Lake
Stevens on a big black and red
Lake Stevens Fire Engine.
Santa stopped by Main Street
Market to light the city’s
Christmas tree and visit with
local girls and boys before
heading back to the North Pole
to get ready for his deliveries
on Christmas Eve.
The Lake Stevens Kiwanis
Club decorated the tree with
lights and ornaments and
helped Santa with candy canes
and small gifts for each of the
dozens of children who got to sit
on Santa’s lap and remind him of
their Christmas wish list.
Before Santa made his ap-
pearance, Miss Aquafest Roy-
alty and local Boy Scouts served
cookies and hot cocoa and
helped children color pictures
and sing Christmas carols.
This annual event helps bring
the Christmas spirit to the city
and creates an atmosphere of
celebration in downtown Lake
Stevens.
