wonders. Before the meeting
was adjourned, more than
$800 had been donated by the
30 people present!
$32,026,775 Cost Reduction
Savings Validated by Audit
The Bureau of Naval Weapons has advised NOTS that, of the
cost-reduction savings reported by the Station during Fiscal Year
1954, a total of $32,026,775 was validated by Navy auditors and
included in N a v y reports of
achievement during Fiscal Year
1964.
The Station was also com·
mended during the Annual Mil·
itary Inspection for its achieve·
ments in exceeding cost-saving
goals established by BuWeps.
Items reported by NOTS were
mainly cost·avoidance savings in
the following areas:
of excess and obsolete materi·
als, (3) packaging, and (4) use
of idle production equipment.

The announcement worked
wonders. Before the meeting
was adjourned, more than
$800 had been donated by the
30 people present!
$32,026,775 Cost Reduction
Savings Validated by Audit
The Bureau of Naval Weapons has advised NOTS that, of the
cost-reduction savings reported by the Station during Fiscal Year
1954, a total of $32,026,775 was validated by Navy auditors and
included in N a v y reports of
achievement during Fiscal Year
1964.
The Station was also com·
mended during the Annual Mil·
itary Inspection for its achieve·
ments in exceeding cost-saving
goals established by BuWeps.
Items reported by NOTS were
mainly cost·avoidance savings in
the following areas:
of excess and obsolete materi·
als, (3) packaging, and (4) use
of idle production equipment.

Newton became lost about 7
a.m. Sunday in tbe Piute Moun·
tains, while on a bunting trip
witb his uncle, Ray Belvin, and
another companion, Don Swean·
ey.
Glennon reported that Newt·
on spotted the rescue helicopter
overhead Monday and stayed
near a creek until rescuers con·
tacted him about 1 p.m. Tues·
day. He had used up all his am·
munitions, Ind contact finIlly
was made by voice. More thin

Glennon said.
A thunderstorm hit the area
