George G. Baker
George Garinger Baker died
of natural causes on Wednesday,
June 20, at Fir Lane Health and
Rehabilitation Center. He was
80 and lived in Lilliwaup for 27
years.
He Worked as a truck driver for
Lakeside Industries in Centralia
for 20 years,
retiring in 1985.
He had owned a
shrimp business
for years. When
he retired, he '
made shrimp
traps and buoys
and enjoyed the
simple life, his
family said
He was born on
October 9, 1926 «
in Bremerton to George '
George Walter Baker
and Merle Ruby ,5 l.
(Garinger) Baker. in]
He served in the Navy during
World War II and was a water
tender second class at the time of
his discharge.
He married Geraldine S.
(Schoeben) Baker in Shelton on
October 2, 1999. Previously, he
was married to Francis Doris
Baker. She preceded him in death
in January 1999.
He enjoyed fishing, crabbing,
traveling to Arizona in his
recreational vehicle, watching the
Mariners and reading He was a
member of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars in Centralia, Good Sams
Recreational Vehicle Club and the
Shelton Elks Lodge.
He was also preceded in death
by his sisters Phyllis Stewart and
Ruth Hagen.
Surviving are wife Geraldine S.
Baker of Shelton; daughter Jody
Fall of Rochester; stepdaughter
Cherolyn Wolkerstorfer and
husband Charles of Bonita Spring,
Florida; stepson Peter Schill and
wife Kathy of Sebring, Florida;
nephews Chet SteWart and wife
Lynda'of Clarkston and Phillip
Stewart of Spokane; niece Laura
Lee Hagen of Lakewood; and
hrother-in-law Richard Schoehen
and wife Alta of Wenatchee.
A memorial service was held on
Monday, June 25, at Hope Chapel
in Sheltonl Pastor Ken Nielsen
officiated. Inumment was at
Shelton Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may he
sent to Faith Lutheran Church,
1212 Connection Street, Shelton.
