Grayce B. Hackett, age 87, of
Lynnwood died January 13 at
Stevens Memorial Hospital in Ed-
mondsi She and her husband,
Claude, were long-time residents
of the South Shore. He preceded
her in death in August 1994.
Mrs. Hackett was born April 26,
1907 in Argusville, North Dakota.
She moved with her family to Min-
,nesOta, then, back to Fargo,,N9rt11
Dakota, where she attended public
schools, '
She received a teaching degree
from North Dakota State and
taught school in North Dakota and
Montana
During World War 11 she moved
to Port Orchard and worked at the
Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Mrs,
Hackett became deputy auditor for
Kitsap County, and after 25 years
of service she retired in 1976‘
She married her husband,
Claude, in 1951. They were charter
members of Christ Lutheran
Church and Retreat Center on the
North Shore, where she held many
offices. She was a member (1me
(American Association of Retired
Persons) and the Retired Public
Employees Council ofWashington,
Survivors include a daughter,
Marlene Curley, and her husband,
Jim, ofEdmonds; a son, Jack Haa~
land, and his wife, Barbara, of Cor-
vallis, Oregon; and one grande
daughter.
Memorial seryjcesiwill be heLd at
70 am. Friday, January 20, at
Trinity Lutheran Church, 6211
196th SW, Lynnwood. Committal
services at niche side will be held
the same day at 2:30 pm. at Miller;
Woodlawn Cemetery in Bremer-
ton, A reception will follow in the
hospitality room at Miller-Wood-
lawn.
Funeral arrangements are
