Heleenv Thackham
Helen Margaret Hall Thack-
ham died June 15 in Shelton. She
was 88 and a longtime Shelton
resident.
She was born December 23,
1915 in Beuowah
Valley, Idaho, to
Jacob and Anna
E. Gordon. She
attended schools
in the Benowah
Valley and grad-
uated from
Plummer High
School. She at-
tended and later
graduated from
Kinman Busi-
ness College in
Spokane. Helen
She married Thaekman
Donald Mr Hall
in September 1936. They moved
to Shelton in 1937 and worked for
nearly a year building their log
cabin by Island Lake. Mr. Hall
preceded her in death in 1986.
She worked for the Washington
State Department of Natural ReA
sources in Shelton for many
years, She later worked for and
retired from the Washington
State Department of Social and
Health Services.
She married Ernest “Bud"
Thackham in 2002 in Shelton
where they resided until her death.
Her sister, Lorraine Gordon,
also preceded her in death.
Surviving are husband Ernest
“Bud” Thackham of Shelton; son
Donald G. “Jake” Hall and his wife
Carol of Lake Havasu City, Arizo-
na; daughters Darlene L. Van-
derpool and her husband Chuck
of Belfair and Evy A. Young and
her husband Myron of Seattle;
sisters Mildred Bush and her
husband Arnold of Albany, Ore-
gon, and Pauline Wolfe of Saint
Marie’s, Idaho; six grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will
be held Friday, June 18, at Shel-
ton Memorial Park. A memorial
service will be held at 1 pm.
Tuesday, June 22, at the Christ-
mas Village Clubhouse, 2650
North 13th Street in Shelton.
Memorial donations may be
made to the Arthritis Foundation,
3876 Bridge Way North, Suite
300, Seattle 98103.
