Dear Thom,
I'm sorry but your house does not qualify for a plague - yet.
Currently we award plaques for structures built in 1910 or
earlier, with an occasional 1911-15 given if the house was on
the annual home tour. When we began with the plaques in 1978,
we went through 1901 only. A few years ago we jumped to
1910. Over the next few years, we hope to give plaques
through 1920 and then through 1926. Your request will be
kept on file and you will be among the first to receive one
when we target those dates. But it may be awhile.
Since your house was built prior to 1927, and is in such good
condition, it is considered special and is on our list of
structures to be preserved in Pacific Grove.
Thanks for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Adam Weiland
Research Director
Ps. I enjoy your articles in the Herald, especially when you
write for the weekly magazine section on Sunday. I always
look for your byline.

First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the

Newspapers produce and deliver news and information which they feel is important -- most often

provided by you or others, rebuttals, opinions, and other information such as court-ordered
legal notices, and historical and statistical data.
